The Short List of Only the Best Online Entrepreneur Programs

online entrepreneur programsSo……you want to start a business online, huh?  Well, there is good news and bad news.

The good news is that the internet brings even the common man the opportunity to build a business, without a whole lot of money.

Getting started with the basics doesn’t require a whole lot of money, and the payoff can be enormous.

The bad news:  the online world is a vastly different place than it was, say, 15 years ago.  Competition is enormous!  Everybody is online in some form.

Therefore, while it is easy to get started, the road to success is much, much tougher than it used to be.

That’s why I preach doing things the right way.  Google, and the general public, are searching for relevant and useful content.  Tricks and hacks won’t get you very far, at least not in the long term.

Our Intro to Online Entrepreneur Programs

In order to succeed in today’s clogged internet playing field, one must truly understand the gameplan.

There are many, many sources that will teach you their blueprint for internet success, but a lot of these provide short term solutions, or they don’t work at all.

Your foundation should be based in real solutions, and real answers.  It’s not the sexy, tons of money overnight “system” that some people advertise.  You want to find online entrepreneur programs that work long term.

That’s what you want, right?  You probably are trying to build a sustainable income online-something scale-able and real.

Colleges With Online Entrepreneur Programs

If you want some credentials to go with your training, you might want to consider online entrepreneur programs from online colleges.

Having a degree or certificate can build trust with your audience, and the experience you gain from the training should allow you to make great decisions as you build your career online.

Getting a degree from an online institution can be a great way to solidify your entrepreneurial skill set!

Here’s just a few of the most “esteemed” institutions that offer course study/degrees in entrepreneurship:

The downside to this choice, however, is that it will take a longer time, in most cases, to complete this training, and will probably cost quite a bit more than some of the others we will cover.

In addition, none of the programs I scouted provided a real concentrated study of the things that REALLY matter to us:

  • Website building
  • SEO
  • Traffic strategies
  • Content strategies

Of course, you can round out course study to fill in some of these missing pieces, but most people who are interested in building niche sites for profit are interested in more focused online entrepreneur programs.

You know, the programs that focus on building a long term business online.

My Short List of Online Entrepreneur Programs

What we are focusing here are programs that are good at taking a relative newbie to online business and internet marketing and giving them a step-by-step approach.

The best programs should offer actionable steps that build on each other.  Each category of study should be written in an easy to understand format.

A good choice would also offer help at every step of the way, and a chance to collaborate and engage with other “students”.

Although not necessarily a deal breaker, it would be nice if these companies also offered hosting and site support, providing another layer of depth.

The companies chosen must be trustworthy, meaning they have a large member base, years of service, and members willing to share some of their success “secrets”.

Ok, enough of my are my best choices for Online Entrepreneur Programs

first place for online entrepreneur programsWealthy Affiliate

My choice for first place is (surprise!) the home of NICHE-WEEKLY and NICHE-FACTORY.  I am also an affiliate for them, but only because I have learned so much from them.

I have been a premium member for three years now, and the stuff I was able to learn has transformed my opinion on how to build an online business.

Sign up for a FREE membership and see for yourself!

The FREE membership is No strings attached and No credit card needed, by the way!

Add in world class hosting, the ability to build up to 10 sites with a single account, and a vibrant member group (many whom have been there for years!), and you get the picture why I suggest them so strongly.

Staying true to the article, Wealthy Affiliate offers one of the most comprehensive training programs I have ever experienced.

Created in 2005 by Kyle Loudon and Carson Lim, Wealthy Affiliate now has a following of over 400,000 members.  Of course, not all of them are premium, but I feel even the free membership option provides a lot of features, such as:

  • Free website with SSL
  • Access to help and networking
  • Core Certification Course (10 lessons)
  • Affiliate Bootcamp (10 lessons)
  • 50 Training modules
  • Personal blog
  • Video Walk-Throughs
  • 2 Training classrooms
  • and much more!

sitesell online entrepreneur programsSiteSell

Although they don’t offer a free membership, SiteSell offers a 90 day guarantee that they honor.

Even though my personal choice is Wealthy Affiliate, I used SiteSell a number of years ago, and I was pleased with the company.

When doing research for this article, I was surprised at how many features they offer now.

Even with my earlier experience, I got a lot of great information out their training programs.

sitesell training programs

SiteSell offers a very comprehensive, step by step training program that sets even the newest online marketing up for success.

Created in the early 2000’s by Ken Evoy, SiteSell has thrived by selling a very sensible, content-driven approach to site building (the same principles as Wealthy Affiliate, BTW).

One reason I left SiteSell years ago was the cost.  While it is cheaper than WA overall (WA premium will run you about $20 more per month), you can only build one site.  Each time you build another site, you will need to purchase another membership.

I do, however, agree that -even though WA offers space to build 10 sites-you should concentrate on building 1-2 QUALITY sites at a time.  It is nice, though, to have the flexibility to expand or work on other projects already built into the membership.

Our conclusion about Online Entrepreneur Programs

I have only recommended two programs.  The reason for this is that I have used only these two, and I have researched the comments (good and bad) of both.  I wouldn’t feel comfortable giving you info on companies that I have not personally used.

Both of these companies have large followings, success stories from their members, and very immersive training programs.

In my opinion, using the concepts and training that both of these companies provide is the only real way to build a long-term business online.

I would love to hear your feedback!  Post below, or drop me a line and let me know how you feel about online entrepreneur programs that you have experience with.
